Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to in the media as Ashanti was born on 13 October 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a songwriter, singer and actress from in the United States. Ashanti began her professional career when she was a teenager and was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. Ashanti made an appearance as Fat Joe's What's Luv? The song "What's love?" by Fat Joe as well as Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time are both massive hits.
